    Brownie Lake Community Advisory Committee (CAC)
    The CAC has held three (of four planned) meetings to discuss the $1 million improvements to Brownie
    Lake. Funding sources are Legacy Amendment, federal government and the City of Minneapolis.
    Needed improvements include bike trails, the sewer pumping station and access road.

    Open Houses are planned to review recommendations for the Brownie Lake Area Plan:
    January 17 to review preliminary plans
    and
    February 14 to review the preferred option
    Meetings are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Kenwood Community Center, 2101 W Franklin Ave.

    Sunset Boulevard Reconstruction Planning

    Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES), operator of the metro-area wastewater collection
    and treatment system, is proceeding with its plans to construct a new regional sanitary sewer along
    Sunset Boulevard during 2012. MCES is working with CIDNA to explore options for reconstructing
    Sunset Boulevard once the new sewer has been installed.

    CIDNA is inviting residents to participate in the planning of reconstructing Sunset Boulevard.

    Construction starts fall of 2012. Please provide your input on improving the roadway for the benefit of
    the neighborhood.

    Free Home Energy Workshop
    Community Energy Services, CES, is a one-stop residential energy program designed to help
    homeowners save energy and money in their homes. CES will soon be available for homeowners in
    Cedar-Isles-Dean. Homeowners are invited to join the over 2,800 Minneapolis households that have
    already participated!

    CES begins with FREE educational workshops where homeowners can schedule a customized home
    energy visit. The visit includes a blower door test which measures for air leaks in the home, as well as
    the installation of energy and money saving materials. These materials may include compact
    fluorescent light bulbs, low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators, pipe wrap, a programmable thermostat
    and more!  Participants are also provided with energy tracking and feedback, information on innovative
    financing and access to specialized rebates available to only program participants. All for a co-pay of
    only $30! Even better, CIDNA will reimburse the co-pay for the 100 residents who participate giving
    you a $400 value for free.
