Southwest Minneapolis Parks       
Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) published revised concepts for the Southwest Parks Plan.  A single revised concept for each neighborhood park property is now available for review online. Share your comments.
See the proposed concept for the parks in Cedar-Isles-Dean. 

Comment on Revised Park Concepts
 View the preferred concept for all of the parks in SW Minneapolis. An online survey is available for public feedback. Take the survey.  

What happens next? The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) will meet to discuss the revised concepts, provide direction to project staff and ultimately make recommendations for each park property. CAC meeting schedule:

  • Community Advisory Committee Meeting #15, Tuesday, Sept. 17, 5:30-8:30 pm (note the longer duration than previous meetings), Whittier Recreation Center, 425 W 26th St.

  • Community Advisory Committee Meeting #16, Monday, Oct. 7, 5:30-8:30 pm (note the longer duration than previous meetings), Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Recreation Center, 4055 Nicollet Ave. S

After the CAC recommendation process, MPRB staff will write the full master plan document and post it online for a 45-day public comment period, which will be followed by a public hearing and final adoption by the Board of Commissioners.

CIDNA Fall Festival
Sunday, September 22, 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Park Siding Park, 3113 W 28th St

Free event, rain or shine.

  • Hot dogs on the grill, snacks and beverages provided by generous local merchants and CIDNA.

  • Activities: scavenger hunt for kids, bounce house, face painting, art activity, meet fire fighters and more!

  • Socialize with neighbors, visit with elected officials and learn about issues in the neighborhood.

Volunteers are needed for short shifts.

  • Set-up: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
    - General set up including setting up tables and chairs

  • General Festival Help:1:00 to 2:30 shift and 2:30 to 4:00 shift.
    - Staff food and beverage table

  • Grilling Help: 1:00 to 2:30 shift and 2:30 to 4:00 shift.
    - Assist in grilling hot dog and help keep the grill tables stocked .

  • Tear-Down: 4:00 to 5:00
    - Assist in taking down the tables and chairs and general clean up
